Mic-O-Say’s Tribal Celebration

The Tribe of Mic-O-Say has become an important part of the lives of over 65,000 Scouts and Scouters who have heard their names called to take the long and hazardous trail.  The Hills of Osceola are calling you back to celebrate Mic-O-Say’s role in our council.  Registration for this wonderful Mic-O-Say Tradition to be held May 30 - June 1, 2008 will begin in April 2008.  This is your opportunity to participate with Tribesmen returning to our reservation.

 

 

 Highlights from 2007 included:

·        Celebration Patcheach Tribesman registered received the 2007 Celebration patch.

 

·        2007 Inner Circle – Continuing a tradition of inspirational and historical reference material about the people and places so dear to the hearts of Tribesmen was included with paid 2007 Tribal Celebration Registration Fees.

 

·      Chief's Challenge - All Tribesmen under the age of 21 were invited by Chief Faithful Eagle to participate in the 2nd Annual "Chief's Challenge." Special events were designed to test the skill and knowledge of our Tribe's young men.

 

·        Special Recognition of Dog Soldiers- tribesmen who give from the heart to ensure the future of the Tribe.

 

·        2nd Annual Late Night at Lone Bear-a unique, viewing of "Strengthened by an Eagle's Claw," the documentary of our Tribe's history.  After the show, young Tribesmen had the chance to have their knowledge of Tribal customs and history tested in a few rounds of "Who Wants to be a Chieftain?"

 

·        Memorial Ceremony a special pause to remember those who touched our lives over the years

 

·        Camp Staff Alumni Luncheon – old friends meet and shared memories at noon at the Mic-O-Say Memorial Lodge (the Great Hall)

 

·        Silent AuctionDonated items of Mic-O-Say and Scouting interest were bought at the Silent Auction .

 

·        Chieftain Ceremony - Over 600 Tribesmen celebrated as a new leaders were chosen for the coming year.

 

·        Renew your vows and walk the Spirit Trail and the Paint Trail – Opportunites were given to all to Tribesmen to renew their personal commitments to those younger and weaker.
